What revolutions will we experience when the things around us are no longer insulated, but are instead a conduit for the free flow of the world's information? As the Internet literally digs its feelers into our physical world?
     
    This impending phenomenon--the Internet of Things--is already beginning to creep in. The all-in-one multipurpose gadgetry of the smartphone is doing wonders to the economics of microelectronics, from wireless radios to sensors. Platforms are stabilizing, the community is growing. We are on the brink of proliferation.
